Government Buildings in S. Jakarta Colored with Betawi Ornaments

All government's buildings that built in South Jakarta Administration have been installed with ornaments or symbols of Betawi. It is in accordance with Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' Tjahaja Purnama's request.
For government's buildings, such as sub-district and urban village offices have already been installed with Betawi ornaments ranging from list plank, pucuk rebung (bamboo shoot), and gigi balang (grasshopper teeth)
Head of South Jakarta Tourism Sub-Department, Ahmad Syaropi stated the installation is also in accordance to Bylaw of Betawi Cultural Preservation.
"For government's buildings, such as sub-district and urban village offices have already been installed with Betawi ornaments ranging from list plank, pucuk rebung (bamboo shoot), and gigi balang (grasshopper teeth)," said Syaropi, Tuesday (8/25).
City to Socialize Betawi Culture Preservation BylawHe also appealed schools and private building management to install it. "For private building management, now it's just an appeal, but if the bylaw obliges it, then I will send a letter and warn them if they don't install it," he explained.
Based on observation, the ornaments are already plastered in some office such as Pulo Urban Village office at Jalan Prapatan Raya, there are a pair of ondel-ondel (Betawi traditional doll), then in Mampang Prapatan installed with list plank.
